Phillips Reach the Unreachable race.

Posted by the Princess~ on
AS I told you earlier, because of the road blockages in KL, we had to spend our morning and afternoons in another place... i.e. somehwere closer to home.. or rather without using the Fed Highway.. or those 'blockade' areas.

My sister was invited to join a treasure hunt game which is similar to Amazing Race.. only not flying around, not doing dangerous stunts.. or eating gross things. ( but the Nasi Lemak was pretty gruesome too.... no picture of it ~)

But it was great with lots of free stuff. ( I love free stuff) and games to keep our Sunday morning interesing and our Tuesday Night entertained.

The idea was to promote thier new brand, the Phillips Arcitec. I'm pretty sure they were able to bring their brand out to many people who were unknown to it. After all they got 40 people running around in bright red t shirts for them~

Here's Jenn completing the first leg of the race. She found out where the clue was and of course helped us to gain more points as we were aimlessly wondering all over the place looking for it.

Since I'm quite helpless with RC cars, and one of the events was a RC car race, Chun Chieh had a great time ( it was his first) after all test driving/kiasu practising during the 'trial lap' of the race.
You can almost see the GLEE in him smiling from ear to ear as he 'oops... reverse too far' and 'oops.... go too far' excuses.. but he did manage not to knock any of the obstacles down so that was good!

Then it was our turn to Shave some monster hairy thing...in Harvey Norman
Fiona : ' eeyah. what are you holding there ah. '
Chun Chieh: ' shhhss... Dun disturb... this is a delicate operation'
Chun Chieh: 'there.. these Hairy half-Balled things laahh..... '
Fiona: 'OoOooooOOoookkkk...... hairy half balled things eh... ;)'

After a few stops.. and assembling a Phillips shaver... it was almost at the end of the day when Jenn and Lichoong decided to CAMWHORE! *points the finger at the camwhores*
Fiona: 'these people aaahhh.... Camwhoring again.... '*roll eyes*

Then it was Tuesday night.. Night of Prize Giving... and Booze drinking and additional game playing time to give us free stuff!
Lichoong here.. uncovered a way to torture his heng-tais. Mass Beer Guzzling. Team Captain has to drown his followers!! now we've got plenty of ideas how to torture you!

There was this game.. where it was SO conincidental that both Chun Chieh and I were picked to play it. it was where you had to 'travel' a pingpong ball up the leg of one side and down the other. Easy? well Chun Chieh was wearing Jeans........ -_-
but thankfully he has really skinny legs.

So up it went... all the way 'up' it got lost for a momment .. then ... out it popped!
Must be careful... who knows what else i could be moving around instead... *wink*

then i won a Shaver. Thanks! I know you think i'm far too hairy for a lady... but ...
isn't there a better way to tell me?
besides.. I was eyeing the hair curler!

as for the Results of the Race itself.. Lichoong and Jenn won 8th prize.

Leona and Ben won 6th Prize.

CRAPPY ungrateful us.. won 4th PRize... just 2 POINTS short of winning the 3rd Prize of RM1k and two arcitec shavers.
CRAP. i'm still unsettled that we lost by 2 points. GAH.
Don't let the picture fool you. i was VERY disgruntled. I could have won 1k!
must have been the hairy half ball shaving thing.. sigh.

Almost a month.

Posted by the Princess~ on
I'm a very lucky Fishcake * refer to my previous post about CLP*

I've been a chambering student for almost a month. well they say the first month is the best month right? where you're learning stuff and you're not too stressed.

I'm glad to say that my master(s) are very kind and I've been enjoying my chambering pupilage so much....

I can't fit into my pants...

YEAH.

Talk about a good life!

But I resolve to pack my gym bag every day so that I can hop off to gym after work. ( yes I'm also fortunate that I have an 'afterwork' to look forward to!)

I don't know how long it will last... as I see my master(s) having to work late too. I'm sure I'll be following in their footsteps as well.

As for the whole.. 'dump my master thing' I have no idea but they say you can CHANGE your master. but with good reasons lah. I think pay is not a really good one. But you could come up with a more ingenious and fanciful reason.. right? After all aren't we taleweavers of some sort?

Oh my last visit to the gym was.. a week back. I've already lost my sneaker/trainers. Sad. I don't know where they went. I'm hoping that they just got stashed somewhere in my room and I forgot all about where they were.

But since i didn't have my shoes.. I went on for some Yoga instead.

Apparently.. they have a new thing called Bikram Yoga.

Here's Bikram himself, Doing the 'Jesus Christ' pose on some lady. Apparently he's famed for his weird antics.

In the Gym, he has this.... VERY STRANGE... if not GROSS and Disturbing picture of him in his black 'thankgod it's not a thong' underwear, doing all sorts of positions. I know.. it's supposed to be a HOT class and you strip down to your underwear (guys.. you're gonna love being in your underwear prancing around in the weirest positions where your 'jewels' are all open for display).Better yet, Since the girls are all in their minimal clothings as well.... it's not a time for you to ... engage in your 'tripod' for better balance! Or in the words of the horny women in Beowulf, ' His legs looks Strong... all three of them!'

This picture is already a very decent picture of him. I tried looking for it online but I couldn't. Will snap a picture of it in the gym ;)

lolz.

Hindraf Rumours, Chambering Students, A race and just a lil bit of drama!

Posted by the Princess~ on
HINDRAF, is an organisation by the immigrant indians to Malaysia during the British Colonial Times, to compensate the poor indians who are now suffering in Malaysia.

Of course had the British NOT bring them into Malaysia.. they would be living life in the lap of luxury in India. OF course the British decided to only bring the rich and wealthy to Malaysia so that they can work them to the bone and pay them a measely amount of compensation.

Of course they will not stand for this atroucity. what when All the Other races are having a field day not being poor.

nope. No Malays ( race not religion) are poor. Nope. no Chinese either.. yeah right.

what I don't understand is WHY they wanna target Britain? when they can target something closer to home.. some body that denies them of special benefit. Some Body that decided to give beniefits to others who are in the top ranks receiving all the benefits already.

Forget about the poor. Let's create a spaceman so that the little kids who HAVE a TV can see him fly about in space making teh tarik while their stomachs growl in hunger. why waste money on improving the lives of the impoverished. Let's just build really expensive fences and fanciful lights and elaborate million dollar bridges.

the Poor will find a way to survive.. but at least Malaysia will look good in our sparkling new courts, prosecuting them for stealing or other misdemenours cause they don't know anything else how to survive.

Face.

That's the only thing that seems to be important in Malaysia today.

not Heart. Not muhhibah.. not Rasa Sayang. No Unity Band.

What is important is how other people sees us. and how we can hide those skeletons so no one will notice them.

yeap. it's all 'normal' to have these social problems. Whatever lah. It's time for a change.

Like how the Australians ousted Howard.

I forsee a change in Malaysia as well.

Malaysia boleh?

Anyway besides that, because of the Hindraf riot/protest. ( riots on the part of the police.. mind you) I didn't venture out to KL. making me miss important events. But instead we attempted a try at a Phillips Reach the Unreachable race. It was good fun as it reminded me of being in Amazing Race ( not that I've done it before)

I wonder if I'll win the Phillips Arcitec. It's Major cool. but I don't think I need to use it tho. lol. but the Cash prize.. of RM2k is VERY alluring!

Yeah that and if you're a potential chambering student and you don't know where to go. I've got some news for you! Firstly. a Chambering student is in HIGH.. and I mean HIGH demand now.
Pay is negotiable. I hear some firms are paying up to 1700 for chambies. So you can get that too! Also if you need some help finding places to chamber... My friends are looking for chambies ( well my NEW friends) so I can help you out there.... ;)

yeap. with the 100 odd students coming out each year.. It's a Chambie's Market nowadays. Everyone wants us. For what? I also dunno. Bully us kua.... :D

Where else can you find a subservient person who will call you MASTER in this day of age?

heck I want one too!

oh and people.. especially living in Subang. Please be EXTRA careful. Subang is no longer a safe zone... it's so Dangerous as my neighbour found out early in the morning.

Danger~ keep you doors locked and jewels safe.

you never know what might happen.

muaksz that's it from the Evil kitten~

My First Love Letter from the Bar Council

Posted by the Princess~ on

After 2 years of CLP, and 3 years of LLB.. today I finally received my very first letter from the Bar Council addressed to me.. yes! ME!

For those of you who constantly get letters from the Bar COuncil... I'm sure you don't know how this feels like. But I assure you that once a very long time ago * yes i'm hinting that you are old and jaded* You were once like me.. and easily excitable.. when you see your name on an envelope addressed to you.

For no other reason than to tell you .. that you've got to do this and that. and pay whole lots of money. -_-

oh yeah and I have to do legal aid too.

Do you?

Sarawak Teh Si Peng Special

Posted by the Princess~ on
Sarawakians Swear by their Teh Si peng which is 3 layers.

I thought.. well what the heck.. I have 2 hours left.. I might as well get some of this famed 3 layered 'tea' right?

Well I did.. and since there was 2 places recommended by people.. I decided to get TWO cups of teh si peng. ( Yes, I was quite hyper after that)

I got this Teh Si Peng Special from a coffeeshop near the airport. It was 3 layers.. But! when I mixed it up. It tasted like regular tea. No fun at all!

This is one at a tea shop.. where i had some sandwiches. ( Sandwiches are my new food since I'm kinda afraid of eating noodles already)

This has MORE taste and is Sweeter... the Gula Melaka.. which is the Black ooey gooey stuff on the bottom is quite tasty.. and there is evaporated milk I think in the middle.. and lastly tea.

This tasted More like Gula melaka Tea than anything else. But that was slightly special lah.

After all I do like sweet things!

Oh and the day after.. I realised that KL people aren't all that bad.
Especially the ones in Nanking in Taipan... ( as below)

These are honest people.. VERY honest.. as I found out at 6 am in the morning.. to retrieve my forgotten bag which I left on the chair.. the nice people kept the bag for me and gave it back to me untouched. It was amazing. I was sooo lucky. ( not to mention I prayed like crazy once I knew I left it!)

I love to eat her before the incident.. and now.. this place is even more special to me.

Thank you to the indon boy who found my bag and the Other chinese hawker sellers which kept it for me.

I think they are very very honest and great people. And their food is good too!

Oh and since Tze came back, we all had an outing at Damansara Uptown.. and had a stop by ss2's KTZ to eat.. what else.. Mango Lolo. Yummyness. But the fad has since died down. No one queues for hours just to get a seat.

aren't we all so sweet?

No. it doens't matter if you don't agree. hahahAHaha.

Btw. I am the MONOPOLY champion! ^_^

Kuching - The Kitty is all worn out.

Posted by the Princess~ on

How do you package air??

Today is my Third and last day in Kuching.

I've seen in total... ONE real cat on the streets. ( actually it's owned by some shop owner on the main bazaar).

It's amazing that since it's a CAT city.. you should see loads of cats. but no.. I don't see ANY cats at all.. well except that one. The rest of the cats are all made of concrete.

where are all the cats?

Are they made into some sort of special kolo mee?

Kidding!!

But I've actually grown quite 'scared' about eating anything noodle-y for the next few days.

I've tried a couple of Sarawak Laksa. I've got to say that ( no offence) it tastes between a mix of Curry Laksa and Ha meen ( penang Hokkien mee). Not to say that I don't like it that much but it's a bit... erm.. Overwhelming. I'ved had a try near the Cinema, and one more at Madam Tangs. Perhaps it's because I ate it firstly at madam Tangs.. soo I prefer that taste.. it was more santan-ny.

I'll take Ha meen ( penang hokkien mee) anyday. ( well not now laah I eat until scared de. Heck I should stay in Kuching and lose weight here!) the sweet version mind you not the Thicker porky Blacker version.

I've also had the FAMOUS kolo mee. Johnny, who's the manager of Baywatch, was on holiday with his family and he, who is from Kuching, brought us to experience kolo mee and sarawak laksa.

Kolo mee.. is....

not too bad! Quite yummy!

yeap.. Lichoong was saying that it would be tasteless.. and full of lard.. so I was a bit skeptical about how it would taste like and whether it would suit my taste buds. But surprisingly.. it was very salty.. and yummy.. not too dry also!

but instead of the 'curly-wurly' maggi mee style noodles that my colleague had, I had the straighter kind. something like longevity noodles.

Those were coated in the 'pig oil' very nicely and didn't seem dry at all.

I guess the only thing that could make the kolo mee not too dry would be a side helping of soup. That should help it.

But I don't know about East Malaysian People.. but they sure love their Pork Livers.

Almost every dish I see pork liver inside.

and their prawns are extremely fresh! unlike KL prawns which are mushy and unfresh.. and just plain gross. these are very spongy and has a bounce to it.

Anyhow. Shopping at the main bazaar has been fun. I bought bags.. and other stuff.. but you know what is most popular??

PEPPER!

and you know what?

I'm REALLY REALLY freaked out by the smell of it.

It can knock me out. it's so ... PUNGENT!

I'll tell you the reason why I'm almost fearing anything that smells of pepper. Eating pepper with soups and stuff is great.. but the smell of pepper.. is Downright WRONG. it gives me a migraine. At least I think it is.

PEPPER I like.. but.. this is OVERDOSE. it's pepper everywhere.. at all teh shops.. whole peppar.. grounded pepper white peppar black pepper.. all types of pepper.

Do you know there's even a pepper sweet? and pepper biscuits??

it's quite..

Quite...

You'll know it for yourself.

I Bought Tons! Just to share the JOY with everyone else!
Oh and while I was eating at this shop called Italiano Something.. it's nearby opposite Airasia/Mojo/Denise. I saw a HUGE picture of SS2's Bella Italia. I thought that it was a branch or something but apparently it was not! I don't know why there is a picture of Bella Italiano there also.. But I did notice that on their menu there was something strange.

Ice Blended was served with "SQUIRTY Cream." What is squirty cream? I dunnno.. Maybe the people there were not convinced that the cream was 'throughly Whippped' therefore they believe that since it came out of a can.. it is more appropraite to call it Squirty Cream.
Hey.. No Naughty thoughts k! ;)

But you know what? everywhere I go in Kuching.. since I've been following kennysia's blog..
REminds me of his blog.. like.. Oh! I've read about this before.. Oh I've seen this before.. etc etc.
Heck I was wondering if I'd even see Kenny sia around.
But I highly doubt it cause i'm back in the Hotel after dark.. Scared! the people I work for tell me that kuching is a pretty unsafe place for tourists especially near the waterfront.
Sad. It's really quite pretty!
Oh and you know what?
Kuching is SO laid back. it's sooo.. small. and easy to move around. No jam. Not even rush hour time.. or Lunch time. Everything is so easy going.
Everyone here is exceptionally nice. i don't know if it's because our face SCREAMS 'I'm not from Kuching!' But everyone is REally hospitable.
Maybe it's a East Malaysia thing.. Maybe it's just a KL thing where everyone is MEAN and evil.
But here you can talk freely to anyone on the streets. Of course being the KL-ite... I'm stil VERY weary about talking to people and I walk in such a manner that I don't have eye contact with people.
Weird? Check out how you walk around the streets next time and see how many people look at you and smile at you. You'd be surprised at how unfriendly KL people are.
I guess it's because we're afraid of being targeted.. etc.. being a victim becuase we're nice.. You hear that all the time!
Anyway..
that's it from me from the Kitty Kat!
byebye!

The Kitten goes to Kuching

Posted by the Princess~ on

Some might think that it's appropriate that the Evil Mischevious Kitten Goes to Kuching. After all... its all about cats!
The trip here was not too bad. It's been about 3 years since I last sat on my 'frills' airline. And I have to say.
It's not much difference except that there's food.
JUICE!
I love juice. and I even took home the box that the food came in.
Amazingly enough this is the first time I've had a carrot sandwich. and since it's in BM.. the water was spelt 'AIR' lol.
so silly.
Anyway, taken for a ride around town, I already see many CAT statutes.
lol. since I'm a kitten.. I should get one statute too right?
and no.. I'm not going to put up a photoshopped picture of me!
alrighty
back to work.. the reason why I came here..
will blog more later!

Maroon.. An Indian Place with lots of curries!

Posted by the Princess~ on
Happy Deepavali! Or Diwali.. whichever strikes your fancy!

As today is Deepavali.. and since I'm working.. today is a public holiday for me! YEAY~ I love working.. especially when I get holidays. ahaha.

Anyway. today's blogpost will be about a very yummy Southern/Northern Indian Western Eastern Cuisine Fusion (a HollyBollyWood) Place called Maroon. Chun Chieh treated me to a wonderful lunch there yesterday cause the pan mee place was closed! but I thought that it was a good try since I saw it in a show called HoChak.

It's located nearby Dataran Prima, I think in the SunwayMas area.

There were set dishes/ lunch for us to choose from and I wanted to try their Chicken Massala. I saw them in HoChiak in 8tv and they looked really yummy! so I wanted a go at it myself. So I had something called Pulau Rice, with Chicken Massala and some cauliflower potato curry thingie. I can't remember the official name. With curries and mayonaiise onions.

VERY strange combination but it works.. I thought it was VERY yummy! The Rice is made from Ghee, Raisins and some other spices that made it very aromatic. the raisins gave the slightly spicy and salty rice nice surprising tangs of Sweetness which added to the rich flavours of the chicken massala. and I THINK that the chicken that they used is Tandoori Chicken. The Chicken in it self was well marinated and juicy retaining it's lovely tender texture.

The Portions they gave to me was just right as it served enough 'sauce' to keep my rice nice and drenched. ( I love to eat it that way... Banjir!) but not overpowering.

My Set meal came up to about RM16 excluding taxes which includes freeflow of drinks ( excellent for a chilli intolerent person like me) and a scoop of ice-cream! :)

Chun Chieh had Grilled Chicken something with Grilled vegetables.. ( yummy!) and mashed potatoes.. ( I personally thought that it was too blended) But the thing about this place is that they really GRILL the chicken from scratch when you order it. Not good for someone who is in a rush but definately worth the wait. Or so he says. But I did try it and it was YUMMY! inside the piece of chicken ( which is slightly small for a 'I'm-always-hungry' kinda guy he is) is stuffed with Oyster Mushrooms. The Sauce.. is in Chun Chieh's opinion really REALLY good.
He's not to much of a connoisseur but he's learning what is yummy and what is not.

Her'es a close up shot of the grilled goodies.
Then as a Aftermeal, we had tandoori Chicken.
I love tandoori chicken. I don't know why.. Probabaly cause it has a vibrant unnatural RED colour with zesty Lime Juice mixed with a ,little mint that makes it yummy. Oh and the fact that it's tasty is a good point as well.
Some places.. serve the Upmost horriblest Yuckiest Tandoori chicken EVER. It's Soggy, it's bloody, it's grimmy, not cooked.. over cooked. and not juicy not tender.. and the list goes on.

Not this place.. the Price for Tandoori here costs about RM9 I think. and we got the 'breast meat' which is more difficult to marinate as it's chocked full of rough meat and it's thick! but I was pleasently surprised as it was well marinated.. the outsides were nice and RED and spiced. Crunchy too! and the insides were Juicy! VERY NICE!

All in all.. I would come back to this place to eat something again.. perhaps try something new from the other menus. ^_^

toilet trouble

Posted by the Princess~ on
Woke up in the middle of the night...

like a fighter plane....

ermm how does the rest of the song go?

anyway today was the first time EVER that I've woken up to rush to the toilet to do a number 2!

and spend some quality time with the white throne I did.

nope.. didn't feel quite as glamourous like her.

felt more like this!

we shared some lovely momments.. we shared some tears.. we even shared some dirty secrets.

but.. now I know... not to take the term 'pain in the butt' lightly anymore.

It's QUITE A TORTURE!

till now I'm still feeling the after effects

OUCH!

November 2007

Posted by the Princess~ on

This is the month of November..

Dear People.. remember this month well as this is the month where I've officially filed my 'BORANG 1 and 2' in the High Courts of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur and I'm now a Chambering Student!

It took me a while.. you know the whole big firm small firm thing.. but I think I've made the right decision in sticking to where I am.

But I know that everyone of you have been wondering where in the world have I dissapeared to. I'm sorry but things have been a bit hectic.. and .. well when I have FACEBOOK... the evil being.. that is.. I tend to feel lazy to post.. Furthermore.. I don't have picutres to post up.. that sucks even more!

But never fear! I've started chambering.. so I'm expecting to have some time to post..

I've also bought a new phone.. the SLEEK s5001 from Sony Ericson, so I'll have pictures up and running in no time!

I'm also done with my Sister's Wedding... Phew.. that is one event over.... that event has been hanging over my head for AGES! even longer than CLP! I'm so glad it's over!

The wedding was good. the decor and everything was very nice and I even brought back gifts of candles of the night. hehe.. yeah my cousin said that I'm very typically 'chinese' But they were gonna throw it away anyway!!! soo I figure it would be the GREEN thing to do to swipe them all home. they were new! well almost new. anyway.. I took home about.. what? 20? ahahah.

but the event went smoothly.. As smoothly as I can hope for.. Last minute I had to literally drag Chun chieh from his futsal game to be the AV man of the hour so that there woul dnot be any mistakes..

Lucky he made it! although he was a but grumpyy...... ;)

other than that I would love to include pictures.. but seeing as I don't have a camera phone at that momment and my hand was literally glued to a walkie talkie.. and that the only pictures I took was the ones other peopel took.. I'm sorry but I've got to steal the pictures from other people.. who have yet to upload any.

SAD!

and then we had afamily trip to Sabah. that was cool

Sabah is the place where I like to go.. cause you have the beach and the mountains.. within hours drive from weach other! and yeah.. I know how to drive around in sabah already... the maps in sabah isn't so great.

they just write the Main towns.. but not the roads.. sooooooo... that's a little problematic if you don't know the way.

you literally have to figure it out.. by looking at the direction of the mountain or where there is NO mountain... you figure it out yourself lah. depending on where you wanna go. But I have to say that sabah food is yummy we had lobster and mantis prawn and stuff for a cheap deal of only RM178. but that's for 4 people mind you. and we only had 3 dishes.

okay so it wasn't sooo cheap.

But my mum enjoyed the trip.. althought she insists that she'll never go to BORING again. oops I mean PORING. she didn't like the hot srpings.. nor did my sisters.. but I did! hehehe.. dun care about them lah!

but they were kinda freaked out about staying at the jungle... even thou it was in the sutera Lodges... scared about the real people that might break in laaa... or the 'OTHER' beings...

yeah well what can I say when the first thing that they do when they wake up in the morning is to switch on the TV? no even brush teeth.. not even open the window to breathe in the fresh air..

WATCH TV!!

*sweat drop*

but they loved the Kundasang Chicken Wing. They now feel that all other chicken weing is tasteless.. and that the Kundasang chicken wing is the BEST!I guess the only thing to make them happy in a trip is to constantly feed them! I know this is true for SOME people.. ( yeah you)

You know how many they ate? They ate 15 each I think. We bought a total of about 50 chicken wings!

yes we fully utilised our star guide book and ventured to find all the foods that is mentioned there..

I can't wait for my trip to Kuching, sarawak. then I can try out more things in the book!

p.s. if you notice during the end of the year.. I become a bit busy and I blog less.. that is very true about all the years!
