A week at client's place

I've been sent to do a legal due diligence on a company. If you know what this is, it's simply checking through all their stuff.. exposing all their secrets.. and their trysts and whatever nots.. their spendings, their board decisions... stuff like that. We go through that, find out about all the REALLY juicy matters and then we write a report.. and hand our report in.

So far.. i've been through a small sahres of due diligence processes.. for various matters, I haven't actually done one for a IPO of a local company, but I've done one for an overseas company. I've also done one for an employee share option scheme ( that's where you get shares of the company you work for) mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, reverse takeovers, circulars to shareholders (I do a lot of circulars) yeap yeap. so pretty much i've done a few ( I've only learnt what some things meant recently tho.. ( I know.. I suck))

back to the story.. ususaly when we're at the client's place we're treated REALLY nicely. They treat us to lunch.. dinner... drinks.. etc etc.. they chat with us.. give us wifi connections... cause well, we're their lawyers and they want us to report really nice stuff about them (of course!) butbutbutbutbut..

yes .. there's always tha HUGE butt.

Things aren't always so great on the other side at the COMPANY SECRETARIAL offices!

I guess cause we're simply Auditors to them so they treat us like auditors (poor auditors.. they must have it rough)
Anywaay I was at this Company SEc place. lets call it T. At T, it's FREEZING cold. like really freezing cold. I'm so cold that when I drive home, I don't turn on the aircond. cause i need to defrost. and I don't get WIfi.. so I can't do anything online.. i'm like for a week (that's how long I've been there) been unconnected to the online world. it's been tough. but I've handled it.

No skiving for me. I'm 100% doing my work. and i'm soo focused.. that I don't even have my lunch.. mebbe it's the coldness.

but these peopel at T.. dun do much work... for the days I was there.. these people had a FUN TIME having a STEAMBOAT party! for 2 days in a row! can you imagine that? STeamboat party! and ... I was soo hungry.. iin my room.. which is like 5 steps away from the pantry.. and thenn and thennn....
they say.. wah we have so much food... we keep for tomorrow..

GAH so terrible.. din even offer me a little bit to eat!

but that wasn't the worst lah.. I've been to one where the place was just so horribly dirty... skanky.. smelly.. dusty.. GAHGAHGAH.. I fell sick on my first day there! like terribly sick.. then my collegue also fell sick.

We really think it's the place!

anyway .... Company SEcretarial places aren't all that bad.. I've been to one where it's far more impressive than the Listed company itself! they have see through glass lifts... keng or not?

so rich!

hehe. anyway so that's my rant.
