Coming out of insanity

Posted by the Princess~ on
This is a story I wrote on 11 April 2004. I found it while cleaning up some old stuff my sister gave me back from her apartment. enjoy!

Coming out of insanity (that is the old title.. I'd like to rename it "Bob")
*dedicated to all the Bob's who found happiness*

His name was not Bob, at least I don't think it was. Well, it might have been Bob, but I highly doubt it. Bob was found wantering the streets, holding on to a piece of paper, a leaflet that was pass to him, no doubt during his wanderings. A full grown man, about 35, I'm guessing, walking alone on the streets. That's not uncommon, at least where I come from. But for Bob, it was different. He was 'special', that's the nice way for talking about someone with mental disabilities.

He came to our Home at about 5.04 am. I remember it clearly, as the cool morning breeze blew and the neighbourhood was not up yet, a car pulled up and a young gentleman got out and had Bob on his arm. Bob looked happy but confused. The young man, I never caught his name, explained it might be safer if he left 'Bob' here with us. The young man, of course didn't know what to do with him, but he had a kind heart and didn't want Bob to be left in the streets. Of course, this young man did not call Bob, Bob, so let me just tell you how Bob got his name.

I saw Bob sitting in his chair one day, eyes glazed and looking at nothing in particular, with a huge grin plastered on his face. I decided to 'talk' to Bob for a bit. Bob looked like a Bob to me so ... I looked into an empty box in the room, I called out "Bob... Bob! are you in there?"

Bob didn't take the bait. He didn't stir.

I called out again.. this time looking under the chair and tables, "Bobbbb.... can you hear me?" "Where did you go?"

Bob's attention shifted slightly as he looked at this crazy girl who was looking for something or someone named Bob.

I turned to Bob and asked him earnestly... "Have you seen Bob?" and gave him a big smile.

Bob looked back with his wide eyes, goofy grin intact, and shrugged.

That's the speciality about Bob, his smile. I will never forget his toothy grin that would melt any heart and from that momment, he was Bob.

We figured that Bob may have gotten lost from his family as he looked pretty well cared for someone his age. But we never knew for sure. We looked in newspapers and local listings for missing people but non appeared matching Bobs description. Bob on the other hand was getting on smoothly at the Home. Spending most of his time in the world of his own, his regular chuckles and gleeful giggles would echo through the halls as he watched futterflies fly free. He had such a passion for nature. He kived tge treesm plants and even the grass.

I sat with Bob, watching him take in breaths of air direct from the leaves as he indicates the best ways to breathe to me. I watched him, as he has a limited vocabulary, yet his actions spoke louder than anything anyone could say. His exuberance for life was simply breathtaking yet he was blissfully unaware of everyday surroundings. He merely lived for momment.

I watched Bob filled with pure happiness blissfully ignorant of everything else whilst I pondered upon my own life. Perhaps Bob was int he right world. The world created by him where only what he cared for mattered. A reality created by him, for him. A nice ideal for sure, but would I ever see the perfect world he had created?

Bob left us one day, as abrupt as we had found him. Suddenly the world was without Bob and all we're left is a memory of a wide toothy grin everytime a butterfly flies free.

White Sweat??

Posted by the Princess~ on
This post is for all you Lotion wearers out there.

today when I was at gym... and in the steam room, i heard this really funny story.

it's all about Hot Yoga.. and how some people have WHITE Sweat!

It starts with the vain aunties who enjoy doing something.. i.e. Hot Yoga, and something else at the same time! They MUST do at least two things at once!

So during classes, we SWEAT.. or perspire. either way.. we're wet like cats that got dragged through the rain. some more than others, but either way, you're guaranteed to break a sweat.

So then this lady who was telling the story.. said that she saw her partner.. sweat white colour.. and she thought that was strange.. Then when the Yogi came around to do his rounds.. and correct his students, he realised that his hands were all oily... it was so gross! and the mats were getting slippery too!

So after the class before everyone left.. he made an annoucement.

PLEASE DO NOT LOTION YOURSELF BEFORE THE CLASS...

it's uncomfortable for others around you and ... you have white sweat! hehehe... so unnatural!

anyway I just thought it was funny. I myself just finished my Hot Yoga class.. hehehe thankfully i've never had that before!

I is ar Pitee deh Ader Kountryes

Education: More Countries Keen On Tapping Into Malaysia's Experience

From Leslean ArshadPARIS, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Foreign countries, especially developing ones, are increasingly keen on tapping into Malaysia's experience in developing their education system. This follows Malaysia's active participation as a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's (Unesco) executive board, said Education Ministry's Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Zulkurnain Awang. He said that since Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein's election into Unesco's executive board in October last year, Malaysia had been receiving visits from countries such as Oman, Yemen and South Korea which were keen on studying the country's education system. He said Saudi Arabia had also given contract to Malaysia to implement the smart school concept in that country.Zulkurnain said Hishammmudin had also been invited by the Mexican government to table a working paper on Malaysia's success story in education, in particular, its teachers' training programme and the provision of quality education."Such a session is useful in promoting Malaysia as a centre of excellence and provide good opportunities for networking as well as for disseminating direct information on Malaysia to other countries," he told Bernama.Hishamuddin was elected into Unesco's executive board after obtaining 147 votes in the Asia-Pacific group during the organisation's 34th general assembly in October.Zulkurnain said Malaysia's participation in Unesco, through the education minister, would enable the country to promote its achievement in the field of education and at the same time, enable Malaysia to tap into the experience of others. He said Unesco's objective of promoting education for all (EFA) was in line with Malaysia's own initiative to expand accessibility to education."We have been receiving recognition from many countries in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America because of Malaysia's EFA undertaking," he said.-- BERNAMA

Malaysia's AirAsia may be taken private as industry slows

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) — AirAsia, the region's largest low-cost carrier, said Saturday it is exploring "various options", following a newspaper report that it may soon be privatised.
"We have continuously been exploring various options at both shareholders and company level," Kamarudin Meranum, group deputy chief executive officer told AFP.
"There is nothing to confirm at the moment," he said in response to the report in business newspaper The Edge.
"(AirAsia) has generated a lot of interest but there has always been scepticism about its business model from investors looking at short term returns," the weekly cited an unnamed source as saying.
Kamarudin said the management was focused on ensuring the carrier, a listed company, remained profitable during challenging times.
"We are the controlling shareholders. We still feel the company has a lot of potential. We are a fairly young carrier," he said.
AirAsia had room to expand and was concentrating on building an infrastructure to ensure growth and profit, he added.
But Kamarudin said since AirAsia was listed, "we must be cautious of any statements we make in relation to any development within the company".
AirAsia's controlling shareholder is Tune Air Sdn Bhd, which held 30.7 percent of its shares as at end-March this year.
Tune Air's shareholders are AirAsia chief executive officer Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin himself.
Global airlines are expected to post a combined loss of 5.2 billion dollars in 2008 on a "toxic" combination of high oil prices and falling demand, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) warned last month.
Passenger load factors -- the ratio of arriving and departing passengers to arriving and departing seats -- fell to 79.2 percent from the 81 percent recorded over the same period last year as capacity growth outpaced demand, it said.
Since beginning of the year, AirAsia shares have lost 23 percent while the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index shed 30 percent.
AirAsia said in August its net profits plummeted 95 percent in the second quarter compared to a year ago, blaming high fuel costs and foreign exchange losses.
The company, launched in December 2001 with just two aircraft, has become the region's biggest low-cost carrier and been imitated by national carriers and other low-fare start-ups.

and the share prices have gone up... Malaysians always think that a Maxis will happen!

Reasons why you shouldn't make your husband angry...

Filipino Man Blows Up Wife, Himself In Malaysia

2008-10-07 10:38

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police say a Filipino refugee has killed his wife and himself with explosives during a marital dispute.

Police chief Rowell Marong says the killings have orphaned their 11 children, aged from 3 to 20 years.

Marong says Babin Isang, a fishmonger, used explosives to kill himself and his wife at her sister's house in Kota Kinabalu city in eastern Sabah state Monday (6 Oct). The explosives are suspected to be those used illegally in fishing.

He says the couple, both 35, died immediately. Their niece sustained slight injuries.
Marong said Tuesday (7 Oct) that Babin's wife Indak Musa is believed to have asked for a divorce because she suspected her husband of having an affair. (AP)

This is why... you should always take the explosives away from the husband before you make him angry!

Ann's been Punk'd! *trademark*

Posted by the Princess~ on
It was October 6th 2008, the time was 12 pm. The Plan was in motion... Ann's birthday is the next day so we plotted and planned for the Surprise birthday punk'd session!
Originally we had wanted to get him a big Apollo cake. that was scrapped because we just did it for jef's birthday in Melaka which was kinda successful.. ( what with the ann drama of locking himself in the room only to find out that he didn't! ahaha)

So we decided to get Ann instead! the wheels were set in motion as Jef had asked ann for 'yumcha' as Ann said that he was busy... Jef had to take out the 'tai tee' and say that he broke up with PS cause he cause PS with another guy! (drama!) then Ann was clearly upset that this had happened. so he msged PS. but PS was not sure what to reply so she had to check with jef to see what to reply! hehehe.. then Jef prolonged Ann's agony by asking him to yumcha at 11. (that was the initial plan)
then Ann, came back early from his dinner, and thennnnnn... at 10.30 (way before the meeting time) said. Come I pick you up! . Jef panicked and asked us all to gather. WAh I was watching house ok! and my car was getting washed. so PS had to pick us all up. In the meanwhile, Jef said that he was out, hence ann can't come to his house. (cause we were meeting up at jef's house)
We arrived at Jef's house and drew out the plan. the plan was to park at one side of the park, and then they would walk from his end of the park to our end and we'd MUG him!
So we drove to the end of one park.. and parked there and got out.. and prepared our stuff (we wanted to mayonaisse him too.. hehehe PS's plan!.. that's why we brought him to the park cause we wanted to make him dirty.) we checked out good hiding spots.. but none were good as it was mostly flat areas.. Peter found a 'spot' behind a low hill.. and hid there.. aHAHahhaAHa. it was quite funny actually!
We were at the entrance.. and i was keeping watch for them to arrive... they walked.. and walked..and Jef was dying inside trying to control himself from laughing out loud.
Ann talked about how Jef shouldn't be angry.. and what he should do.. and things that he can do. Ann's a really nice guy! (available too!) and Jef was trying to contain his laughter... then at the end of the road... we POPPED out.. Ann was soo surprised he started hitting jef.. and he was laughing like a maniac. HaHaha. we didn't manage to catch anymore pictures and videos.. but we'll do it next time! (yes there will be a next time... hehehe)
so this is the Pictures of what we took after the whole doodah.. at Kapitan mamak. :D
