*insert horror song here *
Anyhow, most people didn't even realise that it was Friday the 13.. so they were not aware perhaps of the DOOM that they might have faced if they were not prepared for it..
For Valentines, we went to Kuala Selangor. Away from the hustle and bustle of all things commercial (and since it was a weekend) to enjoy the ritualistic Fireflies flickering their butts on and off in hopes of attracting the best female firefly?
While we were there.. we noticed that a couple had mad etheir way INTO an area which had been padlocked and thus could not be opened. Upon their realisation of this fact, they reveresed their car into a ditch!

the ditch was so deep that the car (which is a front wheel car) was unable to come out of it. the car was there when we entered the area ( about 8ish) and when we finished watching the fireflies.. and their kelip kelip ness ... the car was still there!
The unhappy couple sitting at the side of the road, didn't look too happy. Even as everyone else was trying to help the car out of the ditch. the girl sat at the side of the road, and the guy beside her but they were not talking to each other. HORROR STORY!
Well I hope this was not their first date or else.. VALENTINE MISSION FAIL! sad to say tho.. I was laughing and laughing at their whole ordeal. Poor thing. but thankfully.. by the time we left.. the tow truck had arrived to pull them out of their rutt. ^_^ alls wells ends well. at least they'll have a memorable valentines!
on the other hand My experience at Kuala Selangor was... very kampunglike! It reminded me of Melaka, and I didn't realise that it was actually really really near! It only took us a MAX of one and a half hours to get ther ( I figure that on valentines.. you'd need at least 2 hours to get to the shopping malls and find a parking spot that is... if you're lucky!)
It was kinda cool as the roads reminded me of the time my dad took me to Batang Berjuntai (his hometown) for his ex-school reunion. i was a small kid then.. and the journey seemed FOREVER and the dinner was absolutely dreadful. (small town.. they didn't have conventions centers, hotels or stuff like that back then. we had the big gala dinner at their school compound on the basketball court I think!)
I can't remember much about that trip, except I had this most horrendous thought in my mind.
What if the car broke down? (we were travelling past kilometers of palm oil trees with little light to guide the way) what if we ran out of petrol?
Different scenarios played in my head. The one that I spent most of my time thinking about was that if the car was to stop.. and miraculously it was at the side of the road, and it was pitch black, we would have to get down from the car to fix it. whatever the problem was. Worst case scenario, we were unable to fix it and had to look for someone to help. (of course we could just sit in the car... but that would be quite boring... and please note that when I was younger.. I used to have a very active imagination, and most of these imaginations were fueled by my insatiable appetite for the X-files and Millenium and all things weird)
So we would take flashlights and wander into the deep plantations and if we were lucky the moon would be up. of course ususaly each car would have ONE flashlight so the one in front had to lead the way. after wandering the one in front would be slighty ahead of the others.. and the other had to follow the light. (it was pitch dark!)
But after a while the persons following the light would be led by NOT the first person.. but by other lights.. other lights that lead you to strange places.. other lights that are not lighted by people or perhaps things you know. and by the time you follow that light so deep and so far and you don't know where you are.. the lights would switch off. And you'll be caught unaware. Of course you never talked when you walk. Your mum told you never to call out names in the dark.
Now it's too late. The moonlit night was now covered by the shadows of the trees. Crackling sounds of the undergrowth deafen your hearing. By the time your eyes get accustomed to the darkness, it is all but too late. The last thing you see... is nothing at all.
Of course as the journey in the car was terribly long ( i think i fell asleep too) I would have various different endings. another particular one I liked had a happy ending. they went to a house. the house had people etc etc. they stayed there.. like so bagus ate drank whatever. then the next day wake up and ... it is but a shack. and everything in it had been deserted like 20-30 years ago.
sorry lah.. I like to watch movies too hahaha.
but I enjoyed Kuala Selangor. We ate lots of food (it was not too bad.. not too pricey but It could be considered pricey in Kuala Selangor) I also tapaused my favourite fishhball with egg. I had a lovely time and most importantly it was shared with my GIANT TEDDY BEAR! Please meet Takeshi Kaneshiro bear bear!
He says Hi~I didn't realise that he was in the car.. all buckled up. until chunchieh said.. we're going to kuala selangor.. and I brought a friend. so I looked back and SAW the most gigantus pink Bear in the world! He's soft and cuddly just so wonderful.
I love my bear bear very much!

Thank you!!
